The QBR will Arrive on the Shores of Anguilla in 14 Days


On Sunday, 30 March 2014, Anguilla will welcome the Queen’s Baton as it continues its global journey to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.  The Queen’s Baton contains Her Majesty’s ‘message to the athletes’, and is carried from Buckingham Palace, London, across the Commonwealth to the opening ceremony of the Games.

 

The Anguilla Commonwealth Games Association has made plans for an-island wide relay which is scheduled for Monday, 31 March and Tuesday, 1 April 2014.  This route will entail an around the island sea relay on Monday, whilst visits to the schools, places of interest and scenic areas across the island will be undertaken on Tuesday. The Baton will traverse the island by sailboat, motorboat, bicycle, motorbike, horseback, donkey, wheelchair and car in addition to relay runners.
