Presentation of Paintings from the Broadbeach Primary School, Gold Coast, Australia
Two of the athletes who attended the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games returned to Anguilla with paintings that were given to them by the Broadbeach State Primary School, and chose to present them to the schools of their choice.
On Wednesday, 20 June, Curlun Richardson (who participated in the 69kg category in boxing) presented the Valley Primary School with his painting from the Broadbeach Primary School that depicted city life in the Gold Coast with high rise buildings.
On Friday, 22 June, T-Kailah Richardson (who participated in the 200m sprint) presented the painting she brought back to the Orealia Kelly Primary School, who took part in the School Connect Programme, where a chosen school from each Commonwealth Country connected to a chosen school from the hosting country (Gold Coast, Australia) and corresponded with each other leading up to the Games. T-Kailah’s painting depicted life in the Gold Coast at the beach.
Accompanying the two athletes were members of the Anguilla Commonwealth Games Association (ACGA), Secretary General, Althea Hodge and Ex Officio, Rollins Richardson.
